BRANDING GUIDE

Branding in Motion.

A brand is recognized by its consistency: the same colors, type, sound and tone in every frame, photo and screen, whether it is a 6-second ad or a three-day conference.

The overview

A brand system for video goes beyond a logo: color palette (with values for screen), typography, logo animation, lower-thirds, end cards, music style and a voice and tone guide.

Events carry the brand in physical space too: stage backdrop, LED wall content, holding slates, sponsor loops, signage and the livestream player should all look like one family.

Consistency builds recognition; recognition builds trust. A simple template kit lets every new video look on-brand without starting from scratch.

FOR PRODUCERS & CREW

Technical deep dive.

Specs, settings, standards and current tools. Facts that change are dated and sourced.

Color for screens
  • Define every brand color in sRGB/Rec.709 hex for screens and check it on a calibrated monitor; print CMYK values do not translate directly.
  • Saturated reds and oranges can clip on cameras and LED walls; provide a "screen-safe" version and test on the actual wall.
  • Check contrast for accessibility: WCAG 2.1 AA asks for 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and graphics.
Templates
  • Motion graphics templates (lower-thirds, titles, end cards) in the edit software and in the live switcher graphics, so live and recorded match.
  • Safe areas: keep logos and text inside title-safe for 16:9 and inside platform UI-safe zones for vertical video.
  • Logo files: vector (SVG/EPS), PNG with transparency, white and dark versions, and a square avatar version.
Brand on camera
  • Wardrobe and set dressing in brand-friendly tones; avoid competitor colors behind speakers.
  • Branded microphone flags, lectern signs and step-and-repeat backdrops show up in every photo and clip from an event.
PLANNING CHECKLIST

Before the shoot or show.

  • Logo files in vector and transparent PNG, light and dark
  • Brand colors in hex/RGB for screen, with screen-safe variants
  • Fonts licensed for video and web use
  • Lower-third, title and end-card templates
  • Music style or sonic logo
  • Event slates, LED content and stream overlays from one template
CLIENT FAQS

Questions we hear most.

We only have a logo. Can you help?

Yes. We build a starter video kit from your logo and colors: animated logo, lower-thirds, title cards and end cards.

Why does our red look different on video?

Cameras and screens use a different color space than print. We create screen-safe color values so your brand looks right on video and LED walls.

Can we put the Buckeyes, Crew, Falcons or Braves logo in our event video?

Not without a license. Team and university marks are trademarks; we can match your palette to the spirit of the day and add licensed artwork only when you have permission in writing.

What local partners help a brand feel rooted?

Featuring neighborhood vendors, venues and causes on screen, with their consent, makes a brand read as part of the city rather than a visitor. Tagging them also doubles your organic reach.

Does our brand need a version for heat and daylight?

For outdoor LED walls and summer events, yes: bold, high-contrast logo versions and larger type stay readable in bright sun.
