Pick your stream quality and destinations to see the upload speed the venue needs, with headroom for a reliable show.
Plug the encoder into the venue network with an Ethernet cable. Wi-Fi speeds swing with every phone in the room.
Run a speed test at the same time of day as the event, on the same port you’ll use, and ask for the result in writing.
A bonded cellular unit or a second internet line keeps you on air if the venue connection drops.
A typical 1080p30 stream runs at about 6 Mbps. We recommend at least twice your total stream bitrate as upload, so plan for 12 Mbps or more for a single 1080p30 stream.
Connections fluctuate. Headroom absorbs dips, other devices on the network and audio, so the stream doesn’t buffer or drop.
If your encoder sends a separate stream to each platform, yes: each one adds its full bitrate. A multistreaming service takes one stream from you and copies it out, so you only upload once.
Rarely for a professional stream. Ask for a dedicated wired line with a guaranteed upload speed, and test it before the event.
We check the venue connection ahead of time, bring backup internet and run the stream from start to finish, so you can focus on the room.
